The flaws are simply too glaring, too immersion breaking, and too frustrating to work around.

I don't think I can play this game anymore, and for the same reasons I quit last time. A loud mouth elf? Seriously?Īnyway, apologies for the rant. which should miss right? Yeah except they don't, and they stun lock me and Geralt won't dodge, block or do anything except get his ass handed to him while I resist the urge to throw my mouse across the room.Īnd I agree with Rivenll, until you get to the latter Skellige fights there should be no contest. Just like watching my opponent throw fast attacks from three meters away. It works nicely on wolves/nekkers and on specific attacks of other small monsters.

Geralt parries the monster blow and slides his sword down, doing a bit of damage, instead of pushing the enemy away with his shoulder. It's just cheap and worse, it's the result of coding that I can't do a goddamn thing about. The counter attack for monsters is different. Getting punched in the face by the guy I just taunted into a fist fight cos Geralt won't block IS NOT FUN. The game simply IS NOT SMART ENOUGH to be trusted with deciding when I'm in combat and when I'm not and it's awful. Nearly every single fist fight I get into results in Geralt getting hit because he doesn't realize he's in a fight and won't block or dodge. You know, there is "not offering a challenge" and then there is cheap.
